I have always loved dance and movement of any kind from an early age. My late father introduced me to the delights of theatre, dance and classical music. As a child, I adored ballet, tap, jazz dance and acting. When I was 25, I rejected Corporate life, and left my job with IBM at South Bank, London. I wanted be my own boss and dance to my own tune! With no small amount of trepidation, I bought a Dance Aerobics Exercise Franchise in the 80’s when Aerobic Dance , through the influence of Jane Fonda from the USA, took off phenomenally in the UK. The franchise I bought was called Body Magic. I started teaching around 20 classes per week in local halls in South West London.
Eventually, when I married in 1992, I moved to High Wycombe and wanted to forge my own business again, Hence Zest fitness Limited was born, as by then I had also qualified to be a Personal Trainer (Dip Personal Training and Gym Instruction – PREMIER Fitness). I had a team of 8 wonderful Ladies and gentlemen working with me and I loved every minute of it!
In 1995, I moved back to Ascot, Berkshire and taught aerobics and worked in prestigious gyms and spa’s such as the Spa and Gym at the Runnymede Hotel. I also had my own home Sports Massage Practice.
In 2009, I moved to Finchampstead, Berkshire and set up my Beauty and Massage business called Revive Beauty and Massage.
The business was successful, but after 11 years, I wanted a new challenge. I found that my love of yoga was steadily growing as I had been doing it since I was 19 and I wanted to share it’s benefits with others. I studied hard to be a Yoga Teacher which took two years. I knew that I wanted to rebrand my business and luckily I happened upon the wonderful, Kevin Thrussell and his team from Web Directions in Hook. They totally understood my new vision, so Arjuna Yoga and Massage was created. Arjuna was one of the main Protagonists in the scared text, The Bhagavad Gita (the song of life) and his character resonated with me.
Arjuna Yoga and Massage launches in Jan 2021 and I look forward to meeting all my new Yoga Students and Massage Clients!
